Evaluation FeeTo evaluate a RAID for data recovery we charge $300.
We have had to implement this charge because we find some customers will tinker with their
non-functioning RAID, make no progress, then call us. In the process they take a fairly benign data
recovery situation into one of total data destruction. It is not fair to then expect
us to provide free emergency surgery when the chance of recovery has been all but eliminated.
If you want the best chance of recovering data from your RAID please resist the urge to tinker.
Recovery Fees
There are two pricing models for RAID data recovery:-
Model 1
If you require onsite, out of hours, or the immediate attention of a RAID specialist then our RAID data recovery pricing is at a flat rate of $175 per hour. The first two hours are included in the evaluation fee. We work on the recovery until complete. No other fees are due.
Model 2
If you can deliver the disks to our office during working hours and you are happy with the recovery being performed during office hours as part of our normal work pattern then our RAID data recovery prices are based upon our hard disk prices with an additional $275 per disk. Please refer to our Hard Disks pricing for the costs associated with each faulty disk in the array.
Examples
RAID 5 consisting of 3 disks with 2 disks having mechanical faults. Only one of the faulty disks requires recovery to facilitate recovery. Array would require rebuilding. Therefore, if successful, our costs would be:-
1 * Evaluation fee at $300
1 * Mechanical recovery at $2000
3 * Reconfiguration fee at $275
Total: $3125
A SAN consisting of 24 disks with a logical volume corruption. For recovery purposes the array can be treated as a single unit and hence no array configuration required. Therefore, if successful, our costs would be:-
1 * Evaluation fee at $300
1 * Logical recovery at $475
1 * Array nominal fee $275
Total: $1050
