Normally customers complete our
Online Quotation. This allows us to capture as much information as we
need about your data loss. It also alerts our engineers who are then able to
schedule time for your media. Alternatively call
us if you prefer to discuss your requirements.
|
If sending the media, please follow our
sending media instructions. You may also deliver it yourself to our
offices.
|
Once we receive your media, our engineers will perform an initial
analysis to determine the cause of failure be it logical, firmware, electrical or mechanical.
 |
Logical failure occurs when the data structure becomes corrupted. |
 |
Firmware failure would be a corruption of the low-level machine code that controls the disk. |
 |
Electronic failure could be a component of the external circuit board or internally. |
 |
Mechanical failure occurs when a drive's servo-mechanism fails, the read/write head assembly fails or the motor seizes preventing the disk rotating. |
At this point we are able to make an accessment as to the cost of recovery. No
recovery - no fee, in the unlikely event that we cannot recover your required data we will make no charge. We will proceed with the recovery process only with your
authorisation.
|
After the analysis, any required repairs are made to your media.
Once the repairs are complete and the media is deemed recoverable, a low-level
copy (clone) of the data is made to another media. From this media the data is
tested for accessibility and any further logical repairs are made if required.
Once our extensive testing is complete, the data is ready for recovery.
|
| We return the recovered files to the customer on their required media, usually
CD, DVD or another hard drive by post or pick-up. Alternatively we can make the
data available via our secure FTP site. |
